I know people just do it naturally but if they keep it then I belive that it is wrong. I just wanted to know what everyone else thought.

It is wrong, but it just happens. Fortunately in situations, like at work, you have no choice but to be with individuals and sure enough you get that opportunity to see the real person. Being open-minded is the way to go.

Yes and no. I think that a person's apperance reflects on who they are. Example someone who is dressed all western like is most likey a cowboy, or a cowboy wanna be and probably likes that kind of stuff. A person dressed in all black all the time with white make up and black nails, are probably into gothic stuff. If you wear high heals, a short skirt and Camisol top, people will think you are skanky. If you aren't like that then wear closthes that fit your true personality.

If I wear a New York Yankees shirt, it is probably a safe bet that I am a baseball and Yankees fan. YOu may not know me, but you know that.

If you wear a shirt with beer logos on it, then you probably like to drink.

I could keep going, but I am sure you get the point.

Now if you are judging because of someone wearing designer closthes vs less expensive, that is just stupid and superficial. Or someone, who doesn't know how to do her make up or her hair. Judging someone based on race is wrong too.

I know what I say is not PC, but it is the truth.

No, I do not feel it is wrong. Is it wrong when someone does not get the job he/she really wants because he/she went to the interview with dirty hair, pants with holes in them, smelly arm pits and a few pus filled zits on the tip of his nose? Absolutely not. We only have one opportunity to make a good first impression.....only one. When someone walks into my restaurant, what would happen if every table was dirty, both trash bins were overflowing and a crew member had nasty oily hair, wrinkled clothes, and two teeth missing in front? And maybe this incident had never ever happened before in my business, just a bad day. What do my new customers think aboyt their first visit? I guarantee you that they are not thinking poor workers....they must be having a bad day and I bet this has never happened before. I don't think so. What a horrid first impression. Just my two cents....at least in the business world it matters. You don't need designer wear, just be clean and tidy.

I don't feel that it is entirely wrong, sometimes first impressions of body language can go a long way, i do not judge a person by their clothes or the jewelry they wear because not everyone can afford the finer things in life.......but i do judge a person by their hair, their fingernails and their teeth.........If that is wrong then i am guilty, but at least i go for the CLEAN people ;-)

Everyone judges by 1st impressions at some degree just dont let it totally make your mind up about that person. At least you are aware of it so just give people a chance.

I tell you what Hun, Everyone is guilty of judging first impressions. I have found through life that some of the folks I myself have judged, ended up being great friends. The thing is ...
You don't know what that person has been through in his or her life. Does a person judge another because of judgement of him or herself? To put it all in a nut shell, try thinking of the ole saying,
" JUDGE NOT UNLESS TO BE JUDGED YOURSELF"

well, i think it's Natural. however, if u hold on to that impression and don't give that person a chance, i think That is wrong. but the initial judgement is just something we as humans do. think about it this way; what if someone was scary looking? u'd want to walk far away from them, even if they did nothing to you. but if someone was nice looking, and later on u find out he was a thief!! so u can easily be swayed by ur initial impression; u have to let your smarts and time to add to that impression, to either reinforce it, or change it. :)

No it is not wrong but perhaps unfair. If people were more concerned about the impression they leave upon others this would not be an issue.

Everyone is guilty of doing so. What is wrong is if you aren't willing to look past it and find out if you really are right about the person or not.

Yeah. Spend a little time with that person and get to know them better then judge them.
