The Red Panda is a rare animal and because of its reclusive arboreal nature and the difficult terrain in which it lives, accurate estimates of the Red Panda population are hard to arrive at. It is estimated that there are about 2,500 Red Pandas left in the wild.

Red Panda's are endangered, there are estimated 16,000 to 20,000 in the wild in the whole world.

No one really knows... the last estimate (16-20,000) I found is from 2001... There's not very many though... Our (tiny!) local zoo has 2 of them, and they accidentally gave birth to 2!! They're the cutest things ever!!!!
