I think we should show compassion so long as they are willing to change.

What gives you the right to force others to change. Why should someone who believes that anti-gay homophobia is morally wrong have to change their views because people like you say so?

Part of why so many Americans do not accept religious bigotry is that so many are forcing their anti-gay views on everyone.

We don't have a gay "leader" and we certainly don't campaign to prevent other citizens from receiving equal treatment under the law.

Why do straight people always try to force their sexuality on us? It's in all the movies, on billboards, all over TV, all this straight, straight, straight, straight stuff being jammed in our faces all the time.

Not to mention all the 'straight' bars and nightclubs and danceclubs. They're EVERYWHERE! Why do we have to listen to it and see it? Let's don't forget all those parades, like Easter and Christmas and Valentines Day. Man, they just keep pushing it in our faces all the time.

Yes, I think we should love and support straight people of all religions, as long as they are willing to open their hearts to gaeity.

As an Anglican myself, with a Catholic spouse, I'm chuckling at your satirical question.

I'm not willing to change, at least before midnight tonight.

I realize that this is a spin on the old "gays are okay in church, as long as they're not practicing gays" balderdash. Well, let's make a deal. The Episcopal Church ordained an openly gay bishop, so will the gay community accept one openly Anglican/Episcopalian leader? C'mon, you know it'd be a fun trade-off.

are you tolerant? If you are tolerant then you should practice the Golden Rule.

Treat them the way you want to be treated.

The Golden Rule doesn't say anything more about their behavior, just yours

Anyway, of course a loving and compassionate person should love ALL people and show compassion to EVERYONE.

I am Catholic and have many gay friends one of whom happens to be a Catholic priest (celebate of course as ALL priests should be).
