Omg, i swear to whom ever that my boss is the boss from HELL! She takes every oprotunity to point out that I'm doing things wrong, (which means I'm just not doing them here way! but still right!) make me feel little and stupid and not worth the dirt on my shoes. Nobody in my office likes her and she's on a short leash with the owners of the company. which i might add, like me a lot. Granted its no DEVIL WEARS PRADA, but still. do any of you have any ideas on how i can survive my boss from hell? And what have been your experiences and what have you done about it?

I had a boss from hell. I was a teenager, and had a brief stint working at a restaurant. The boss was a racist, vulgar cow. Her method of correcting an employee's work involved making them stand in the middle of a ring of their co-workers while she screamed at them and made ethnic insults. One time, another teenage employee asked her a very sensitive question (it was a girl who thought she might be pregnant, but didn't really know much of anything about the facts of life, and couldn't discuss such things with her religious parents). The boss called her out in front of everyone and openly made fun of her, telling everyone her questions and ridiculing them, and then actually kicked her in the stomach when she cried. My solution? I left. Plain and simple. Nobody should have to put up with garbage like that.

having a boss from hell means working in a dysfunctional workplace, which means management allows this situation, sad but companies of today are more or less the same.
If you follow Mr. jack welch's advise-at certain point in your life you have to think if this job you have right now is what you really want and if u want to have a future in it regardless of whichever superior u have.
If u decide this is your job and where u want to be, don't play victim-u will loose -react in a way your boss does not expect-keep her inform of whatever u are doing, as if ur asking her opinion , no matter how many times you've done the job, make her important-see what it does to her-

Just get out. You can't change them and they won't change themselves. People either lead by motivation or intimidation and it's a long, slow, painful process for a person to change and then the change is usually slight. Look for a better work environment and get a different job. I wouldn't stay for a career advancement opp. If you're boss is so critical, it will be tough for her to praise you highly enough to promote you. If you like some of the people you work with, get their phone numbers and go out. Any other reason to stay? Then start pounding monster.com and careerbuilder.com. good luck.

I wouldn't call my last boss the boss from hell, but he was one of those technical guys with no social skills. I loved The Devil Wears Prada.

kill her with kindness. ask her how she wants things done first and take notes. review them with her so there is no confusion. then she will be responsible for any errors. sometimes in the end you do have to just get out. maybe the owners would prefer for her to go and not you. if the kindness doesn't work, talk to them.

First of all, keep your own little "diary" of dates, times and what has happened. Report any incidences of verbal abuse or descrimination against you to HER boss. Just do your job best you can, and eventually the witch will get weeded out.
