my cousin paula moved to my town 3 months ago and i introduced her to some of my friends. my mate janet got on really well with her (i thought she would) and they swapped numbers to go for lunch.

janet recently had her hair cut. it was really long and now she has the same shortish highlighted style as my cousin. shes never liked short hair on women.
her music taste has changed from cheesy pop and dance to coldplay and u2 (my cousins favourite bands) even though she couldnt stand music like that before.
janets clothes have also become more colourful and lower cut like my slimmer cousins clothes.

me and my cousin are getting really worried about this now what can we do to stop her?

well janet looks up to paula, but to blatantly copy someone is a bit er weak to me anyway, its like some guy just said,in this world there's leaders & followers..janet needs to find herself & her own style, maybe she has hang ups u say paula is slimmer..depends how far it goes,if it gets worse I should think a quiet word should embarrass her into stopping,if it dont then tell me where u live so I never go there!

Is it wrong for her to have an idol, or like someone elses taste? Alot of people in this world are influence by others. As long as she not doing anything to harm herself or others then let her have a freind to look up too and admire. Even if you might not like the way she has changed be a freind and stick it out. People change all the time, be happy she is happy.

Sounds like you are upset that your friend is obviously impressed by your cousin. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I don't think your cousin is worried and neither should you be. Your friend will soon discover it is best to just be herself.

My sister is like that. She hated rap until my cousin was listening to it and she thought he was cool. So she listened. She tried Weed because he did. She acts like him, talks like him, And Lalaa... We dont exactly know how to stop her. But you can try talking to her about being an indivudial. Or make your cousin do something really stupid that your friend will do too. Then maybe she will learn her lesson. :D

Nothing, why stop her, she just admires your cousin and want to be just like her, she likes her style and wishes to be just like her; your friend is a follower and your cousin is a leader. There's nothing wrong with that...

your cousin could wear something totally wierd (if she's the daring type) and see if your friend copies her.if she does then you could ask her straight out why is she doing it or your cousin could ask her "do you still like u2?" and if your friend would say yes then your cousin could go:"really? they are so last season.i like.............." and then see what your friend would say.but you should probably just ask her nicely why does she like exactly the same things as your cousin.

Sounds like she just wants to be accepted. I think maybe your being a bit harsh. And maybe your a little jealous. Maybe not. Anyway live n let live eh.

She finds your cousins uniqueness intriguing and admires her individuality so she wants to be different like her.
