For me I only play Kingdom hearts one and two as an RPG. I wish I could play those Final F. games but I just can't seem to understand how they work as in gameplay.
If I did I would probably like them just as much!

My favorite PS2 RPGs that are already out are
1. Final Fantasy X
2. Dark Cloud 2
3. Final Fantasy X-2
Also, on October 31, Final Fantasy XII is coming out! I can't wait! The Kingdom Hearts games are great RPGs too!

okami is also nice.. (its an RPG right?) and yeah, the FF and kingdom hearts series is great..

FINAL FANTASY!!!!!!! all the way! there's also dragon quest! anything by Square enix/soft! Kingdom hearts rox!!!
