If the first falls on a Sunday, is this considered the first weekend of the month, or the following?

That is a tough question. After doing some research of various sites I would say that the following weekend would be considered the first weekend of the month because a weekend typically covers both Saturday and Sunday.

Well, we always put up Hallowe'en decorations on the first weekend of the month, and since tomorrow is October 1, we started today.

Mandatory financial content: I have a Quicken category for Hallowe'en. I made the mistake of totaling all the expenditures once... that was REALLY scary. :-)
