Okay, so I'm thinking about getting an IPod, but a friend told me she didn't think they had any kind of subscription service where you can get as much music as you want for a set monthly (or yearly) ammount, a la MusicMatch. Now, I don't want to spend all this money on an IPod, only to have to pay a dollar for every song I want to download. That's ridiculous. I looked it up, and couldn't find anything, so I thought I'd ask.

Should I stick with getting a cheaper MP3 player and keeping my yearly subscription to MusicMatch, which I know for a fact will transfer the music to my MP3 player, or should i get the IPod?

You can transfer music from your own CD's right into the iTunes file library, which comes with the iPod. All the music you may have on your hard drive can automatically be filed right there, too. I had enough music to fill up my iPod without buying anything from iTunes or any other place.

If you need music, here is a site that lets you have 100 free to start out. Just be sure to cancel before the trial period ends, unless you want to keep buying music.

Yeah, if you buy an iPod, you'll have to use something called iTunes to get your music. It isn't a subsciption service, and it is $.99 a song, which gets quite expensive if you're addicted to it like I am!
If I were you I'd get a iPod but if you find something different and you're happy with it, you should go for it.

I Pods are awesome. The I Tunes website is costly if that's how you would like to choose your music. Personally, I find the songs I want on I Tunes (because you get a short sample) and then find the song on Lime Wire which is free. There is not a fee to use I Tunes, only on purchases.

I'm happy with my iPod but people say MP3 players are better so it's up to you, but I would get the iPod. Also the songs are $1.05, with tax.

Just download the free version of limewire (limewire.com) and create a folder/file and transfer song to it and then to your iTunes library and voila! Free music.
