I have been to England and Scotland! What I loved about both countries is all the wonderful old buildings that were mixed in with the new buildings. Gave it real character..you dont see that here in very many places.

For David H: Loved your Answer. I have been to Edinburgh and the castle. I enjoyed it very much! That is not my fav Scottish castle. My fav is Doune castle. I think you would like where I live in America. I live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama about an hour drive from the Florida boarder. (the panhandle of Florida)

I must admit that I was shocked at how little international news was reported on US tv when I was there. In england, the news is very worldspread according to the seriousness of the story. They tend to do international news, national news and then local news. I don't want to be rude but I think the British have a much wider look at the world and it's news than the USA in general.

i live in England and would LOVE to visit america... Been to Florida, but was very young.
I am half scottish, so I do go to scotland rather a lot. And yes, I love the olde Castles and Buildings.. Edinburgh is so lovely.
Where do you reside, may I ask?

I don't think we really have to know about other countries, imagine if you lived in Paradise would you want to know more about hell apart from the fact that you don't want to go there? That is why the world wants to come to the US, because their countries are so wretched. I was watching a program about the UK on the National Geographic about Newcastle which is a City near London the capital city and most of the houses did not have indoor toilets, not even the poorest American lives like this. I wouldn't even want to go to any other country as we have so many beautiful things here that will take more than a lifetime to visit why waste you time going anywhere else. So do you really want to know what some backward hasbeen country is like or learn more about our founding Fathers, the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution that makes us the Greatest Nation under God.

I would like Americans to learn about world history and geography. Perhaps if they were more informed about the origins of Western Civilisation, Americans would be less eager to destroy the Ancient World.

My freind and I were laughing because an american person had asked us where abouts in England Wales was. It wasn't until later that I realised I know very little about American geography.
I guess knowledge is relative.

It is not about particular facts, it is more to do with pulling your head out of your inflated American ar$e, and being willing to learn about other culture in general.
So many Americans seem to be totally self-obsessed.
I use a graphic metaphor of course - some Americans are worthy of being British.
Hope you know what a metaphor is.

well for starters, what you should realise is that the UK or britain as you yanks refer to it as, is not one country: rather it is made up of england, scotland, northern ireland and wales. secondly, not all brits speak with a posh or cockney, london accent like you portray british characters in your tv shows; thirdly, it is as racially diverse as america, australia, south africa, canada and other english speaking countries in the world. that's all i can think of at the top of my head, right now.

Majority of the americans live in their own little fairyland. What we would like you to know the following:
--your media lies to you and worst YOU LOT BELIEVE THE CRAP!!!!!
--you think life is fine, so long as you get your burger and chips, who cares about the rest of the third world that are being starved, killed and ripped apart by your capitalism.
--you think its ok to vote back in a jerk of brain-dead murderer {mind you, we went wrong on that one as well, with blair but at least we came to our senses, he is FINALLY going}.
--last but least, stop blaming the muslims {i do agree, saddam is just as bad as bush and blair}. thats what we want you to know about other countries. we may have rubbish leader but we see through him but you lot just wonder around in your fairy fairy bushland.
if you need to know anymore--do ask.
