The outstretched arms of a child, - especially, my grandchildren.
The outstretched arms of my wonderful wife. Watching babies play together. Hearing a true minister of Christ, called by his Spirit, ably expounding God's holy word. A strange dog, that I want to pet, swishing his tail. First light in the morning. Watching people laugh. My wife laughing. This old man laughing. Tomatoes in my garden turning ripe. Rain after a dry spell. Seeing a friend after a long absence. Reading my daughter's poems and short stories. Holding an infant. Watching animals, birds, or butterflies. Taking a warm bath. Jerry Sienfeld's comedy: -Any clean comedy, actually. The upward swing of the stock market. Nice fitting shirt and pants....and shoes. Kids on bicycles. Petting a cat. Going visiting, or being visited. OK... I'll quit, for now.

REAL happiness on earth does not exist. happiness is something that is forever, once you get it, it can never be taken away from you. Thus, since we live in a world that is made up of TEMPORAL things, we can never therefore have anything that is FOREVER like happiness. real happiness can only be achieved in the after life.

Being and feeling 100% healthy and never having to go near a doctor or dentist. Without ones health and with having to deal with the medical world is a perpetual nightmare. The rest is a cakewalk.

I ran towards an exit door, the escape you showed me. You led me to a path I'd never want to leave. You taught me to break out of my own cage and see the world through your eyes. Hero, your world struck me speechless. Rain engulfed me, drop by drop, on my skin. Its night and the lights are shining brightly like the glittering stars above me. Cars driving by - tires on the wet road - numb in my ears. The breeze leaves me breathless. I feel like dancing, with faint music in the distance. My nose and cheeks red by the chill. Yet I have no jacket on.
If only I could walk on and on, smiling to myself. But I've got a destination to reach. I can sense your presence with me, walking along, carrying my burdens. Ready to catch me in your steady hands if I fall. I stop and grasp the freedom, open my mouth and let the rain fall in. The taste I longed for, lifting my soul and let it all go as I opened my fist and spread out my arms. Take me away. I close my eyes.
The crisp, fresh wind blows against me. My hair flowing everywhere and I feel beautiful for once, like a princess all alone in the darkness. I wish I could see you. If I could, I'd hug you and thank you for this freedom. I listen to my heart beat, faster by every second. This beautiful night - I'd never trade at gunpoint.
You know Hero, I find you everywhere, and I see you tonight in the air, in the darkness that revolves around me. In those eyes I find your courage. You hold my burdens till I'm strong enough to stand on my own feet. You make me alive as the rest fades in time. Your integrity and trust are flowing in this breeze tonight because Hero, the taste of freedom still lingers in my tongue. The freedom you gave me as you beautify my world. It stayed with me even as I ran back though the same door and wait till you come save me again.
Happiness? Something my Hero provides me with.
Stay safe. - Maryam
