Since WWII, our government has a habit of making friends with those of questionable character to satisfy an immediate need and then try to kill them later.
Ho Chi Minh - U.S. supported Ho Chi Minh through OSS during WWII and then the U.S. went to war with him.
Manuel Noriega - Worked with the CIA from 1950 - 1986 and then U.S. forces invaded Panama to overthrown and captured by U.S. forces in 1989.
Saddam Hussein - Supported by the U.S. during the Iraq/Iran War and then the U.S. went to war with Iraq twice.

It's usually referred to as the military industrial complex. Our defense contractors that are run by ex-generals, ex-military, ex-politicians have tremendous lobbying power within our current republican gov't. It's a warmongers wet dream that will end this November. We make the missles, start the conflicts, use our missiles/equip so we have to make more, which leads to more profits. This latest fiasco in Iraq added war profiteering to the list of patterns. No bid contracts for haliburton, kbr, carlyle group, for Katrina/Rita,Iraq, to do sub par work and provide piss poor services. The blatant arrogance of these bastards must have an end!!

Two of the three involved interventions in cival wars and occupation of foreign soil while the vast majority of the United States opposed them. As for Latin America, that was American Imperialism.

Yes. Tiz the pattern of destruction and pillage. You see, the Americans are savages, who conquer and strip that country of it's resources and all it's dignity and leaves it to the dogs and vultures afterwards.
