How can I lead people if they won't even listen to me and they just do what they want?
i had to lead a large group of people in an activity but no one participated.

Frighten them, then make them feel like you can save them. It's being done as we speak.

You can't be too bossy or people will completly ignore you! and since you just put the word "obey" in your question, I have a feeling you were trying to be too bossy.
Use your people skills, just because you ARE the leader doesn't mean everyone has to do what you say.
It means you lead the discussion and get everyone's input, do the best you can to make everyone happy, AND then tell them what the final plan is that you have all come up with together.
Being a leader doesn't mean being a Dictator.

Lead by example. However, you also found out that some people cannot be lead, no matter how good their leader is.
Most normal people though, will respond by seeing someone do things for their 'team' and join them to help out.

I would tell them whos boss and if they don't listen to you tell them that you know who can get them in trouble and that you can tell that person.
