With about 3 games left for the Dodgers, Phillies, and Padres the NL Wild Card and NL West is getting exciting. Who do you think will be left out of the postseason?

I think the Phillies.

Based on the current standings, if the Cardinals lose tonight and the Astros win, then they would take a 1/2 game lead over the Cardinals.

However, the Astros are currently 4 games out of the wild card. That is virtually impossible to make up with only 3 games to play, so neither the Astros nor the Cardinals can win the wild card. Either team must win the Central Division to advance to the playoffs. With the way the Astros have been streaking, it appears they will be the Central Division Champs.

That leaves the Dodgers, Padres, and Phillies fighting for two spots: the NL West Division and the Wild Card. The Phillies are currently 2 games behind the Dodgers in the wild card. I just don't see either the Padres or Dodgers losing their grip on their current leads.

My NL Playoff Teams
1) Mets
2) Astros
3) Padres
4) Dodgers

All three potential playoff teams face off against teams that are suddenly cold (San Fran, Florida, Arizona) but the Giants have played like crap lately so I say the Dodgers are in regardless, so barring two sweeps in favor of the Philly they are out. Too bad, I really like this team. They need some offseason youth pitching if they want to contend next year.

Phillies have had it. One more Dodger win and it's over.
