has the president and the fiscal conservative right wing put their strategy for winning the November midterm elections ahead of winning the war in Iraq?

The more important question would be, how could Bush and his bunch ever associate themselves and this awful administration with one of America's greatest presidents? We should have never gone to Iraq in the first place. Now that we have bigger fish to fry, like getting our borders and ports secure and the possibility of having to go to war with Iran (a REAL threat), getting a grip on the illegals pouring into the country, the deficit out of control, catching Bin Laden, etc, we have depleted our funds and wasted our resources on Iraq, a country that was no real threat to us in the first place! Seems like very bad decision making in the White House. If we have funds to rebuild Iraq, what about New Orleans? Horrible track record for the current administration! If only we would have had FDR in office instead! Bush is delusional if he thinks making these kind of choices puts him in the same boat as FDR! As for the elections, I hope this country wakes up before it is too late!

I don't think Bush knows who FDR is. I think he was blowing snow during American History 101. He even said he can't remember as far as his father's presidency. FDR well he is way way too far to remember.

They have not. Bush specifically said the party of FDR is long gone. The Democrats have become the party of cut and run. He did not distance himself from FDR, but said the current Democrats have nothing in common with FDR anymore. In my opinion, that's true.

How long did you review your question before submitting it? I tried to understand how you pieced it all together, but I'm at a loss. Sorry
