how should i ask a girl to be my girlfriend without having to take her out?

Ooh, you have to be creative! Women love that! I tell my boyfriend that all the time. It helps if you and the girl are pretty good friends or know a little bit about each other.
In all cases, I don't believe that there should really be any asking. I believe that it should happen because it sounds really corny if you go up to someone and say, "will you go out with me?"...very first grade. I do believe that there has to be a special moment in which you connect and there is assumption of oneness and relationship. Which usually occurs when you take a girl out, cheapo. j/p
I don't actually know how old you are (since you're using the word "girl" and don't want to take her out-which may be your reason) so I can't really give you advice on how you should other than be creative because I'd definately be creative (without anything going down like that). Good luck!

One of the best dates I had with an old boyfriend was when he packed a cooler for me before I had to drive 7 hours to visit my family. He put in all special treats that I like and put cute little notes with them. He crushed, mangled, clotted all arteries of my heart a few months later but I still remember that as a date without a date.
So if you can't afford to take her somewhere, use the resources you have to do something special and meaningful

You're not going to get very far, this way! Why would you ask someone to be your girlfriend, and then not go out with her? That doesn't say too much about you.

If she's going to be your girlfriend, you kind of HAVE to take her out sometimes or she'll get bored with you and dump you.
But if you think it will work, go ahead and ask.
