Hi ,
Chest pains in a young person*below 20 which come one intermittenly are probably secondary to musculo-skeletal issure. That means that your skeletal muscle on the chest goes into spasm (like any other muscle does) or the bones hurt or the cartilage at the end of the bon e gets inflamed (becomes red and hot)and hurts. this can all be secondary to injury , sports, excessive use or idiopathic ( we dont know y). The solution would be to not strain your muscles much.

you might also have chest pains secondary to heart burn ? eat less spicier food.

if you dont have heart problems as a kid, you probably would not need an EKG or a heart check up .

Yeah, gotta visit the doc for this one.

I'm puzzled as to the Cherios reference.

Chest pain can be caused (as I found out personally) by pulled muscles and mis-aligned ribs. When the ribs are mis-aligned your chest muscles (in response to pain) stay contracted to keep them "in place" instead of letting them float like they're supposed to do.

I'm betting that your doc will do an EKG (no pain at all) and then will hopefully send you to a sports med doc.

u could do that.. but are u loosing breathe with these chest pains, do u eat to much spicy or greasy foods, go to the doctor and get a check up to make sure, u dont have nothin goin on, that could possibly be because it runs in the family, or u just need to go to the doctor

When you have the pain, get down on all fours on the floor and see if that relieves the pain. If it does, it's indigestion. If it doesn't, get your parent(s) to make a medical appointment for you or see the school nurse.
