if no air is blowing out, you have have a bad blower motor or your temp control is bad (or a wiring problem between them).

It could be two separate problems, with the bad compressor being the reason for the air conditioning's not working. Its also possible, though, that the bad compressor isn't bad enough to be responsible for the air conditioning problem; and you could have a problem with a thermostat or other temperature control mechanism.
It could be the fan/blower motor has burned out or is otherwise not working properly, but you can usually tell when that happens because you often hear funny noises first before it just stops working - and when it isn't working its obvious to you.
This may sound like a silly question, but is there any chance you have something blocking the place(s) the air comes out?
Is there any way the mechanic who looked at the air conditioning did something (or didn't do something) when checking out the air conditioning?
Of course, there are other things that could be the problem; but the most common problems are thermostats and blower motors

Would help if you gave year and model but I would think that your blower motor is out, the fuse that powers it is out--check your manual for the right one, or you may have a bad selector switch/ac-heat control switch--anything at all happen when you turn it on/off? Ya know, you can go to most garages and they'll diagnose it for you for free or search for a site named Ask a mechanic or variations thereof and someone more technical should answer it for you. Good luck.

Might need flushing, if you haven’t used it for the summer and your coolant is, shall we say, not up to par, you may have a blockage in the line. Back flushing can knock it loose then putting in new coolant will help the engine and keep you warm too. This is where I would start, you get the most done for the least amount of money

it's possible either the blower motor, or the fuse linked to it could be faulty. Also in newer model cars, under the passenger kickboard is (sometimes) a 4 pole relay that could be bad.

That happened to my husbands car, turns out, if you kick the passenger side under the glove, it starts again. Weird!

Probably the thermostat is stuck.
They are cheap and easy to replace.
It is usually in the lower radiator hose.
