Actually, IMAO means In My Able Opinion, and LMAO means Laugh My *** Off.

IMHO means in my humble opinion. The problem there being, there is no such thing as a humble opinion.

I think the first character is actually a lower-case "L", not an upper-case "i" (the typist forgot they had caps lock on, which reverses the function of the shift key and hit shift which produced a lower-case "L". The expression should actually be lmao or LMAO - laughing my a s s off.
