I want to have at least one or two kids in the next 5 years. I am over forty and have never had kids before. How likely is it that I can conceive at all. I have never used birth control I have mostly gone celebt. I was surpriced that after four months I still wasn't pregnant. Any suggestions?

I am a black female over forty. I have children one I had at 25 and the second at 35. I am currently 5 months pregnant and have never used birth control. You are as likely as any other woman to get pregnant. I would suggest however that you visit your ob/gyn to make sure all of your parts are in working order and have your husband or significant other visit his doctor to get checked out as well. In the meantime don't stress over it. If its meant to be it Will happen.

I understand what you mean. Genetic make up of people of different races differs therefore, I know that there is statistical data on the very question that you are asking.

For eg: A white female may have more chance to conceive over forty than an oriential woman of the same age. this is because of, for example genes, diet, way of life etc.

Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to your question, not having access to researched information, however, as people who have answered your question today have said: it is possible. 4 months is too early to start panicking as you have been celebate for a while. Your body needs to adjust to the change and soon an egg will be fertilised. put conception out of your mind while having sex otherwise you will take all the fun out of it!!!

four months isnt a long time to get worried
my cousin but she's white though i dont see a difference bet blacks an whites
she was over fourty and got pregnant when she got married
after about one year or even more
but i guess it would better if u go see a doctor and make some tests
though he will tell u its yet early to make them
as four months isnt long
but just to make sure things are totally right
besides dont stress out as it might make ur body anxious about it
and as if it meant to have kids it will simply happen :)
and good luck to have those little angelic kids
name one of them alexandre ok :P
kidding
take care
bye

My aunt just had twins and she is 50 (poor woman). I don't think your race would have anything to do with it.... older women have kids all the time. Even healthy 25 year old couples take a year to concieve sometimes. If you are really worried, go see your OB/GYN.

I would think your odds would be as good as any woman of any race.
