lol thanks
what i really want to know is will a regular detergent ruin the sweater (if i hand wash it)?
i know it would be better to dry clean, but we never go there... and we aren't going to for one sweater.

You should definately be using something more gentle than regular laundry soap, they contain softeners and harsh chemicels to break down the amount of dirt & oily residue that would occur from a regular size load of clothing, linens etc. The best thing for you to use would be Woolite, as it is formulated especially for delicates...however, Dreft baby laundry detergent works well too. Lastly, if you don't want to spend the money on a detergent to wash just this one item...you can always use a little plain Ivory or plain Dove dishwashing detergent, as they are both very gentle and contain no dyes & very little fragrance additives.. Make sure you do not twist or wring out your sweater since this will stretch it and ruin the elasticity...when it comes out of the water, just (VERY lightly) squeeze out some of the water, then lay sweater out flat on top of one or two fluffy thick towels and roll it from one side untill you have a long "rattail" with your sweater rolled up inside it. Apply pressure to dab out the water from the sweater inside....then, when you think it's done....un-roll towels and lay your (almost dry already) sweater flat over a sweater rack or on a new clean dry towel to dry the rest of the way. If you need to, you could air fluff it in the dryer with NO heat, when it is all dry...just to get the rabbit hair nice & fluffy again. It should turn out beautifully...and even though this sounds like a lot...it is really very quick & simple, and saves you money on drycleaning bills too!!!

U should use Woolite or something that like it. If money is an issue most stores have a brand that complimentary to it but be sure before by reading the label. Put the washer on and dunk the sweater until its wet, it doesn't have to be soaking. Take a few drops in the cap and pour it H2O. Be careful of shape of sweater by squeezing the water out. If u cannot get the Woolite use the regular but only and only a few drops. (The entire sweater is not like caked in mud or something) All u want is to refresh it in the places needed. If it was just Rayon or Nylon but the rabbit hair is what's tricky. U could just wet the spots that needs cleaning until u can get it to a dry cleaner.

If you wash a rabbit hair sweater you will never be able to wear it again...
If you like the sweater then have it dry-cleaned, if not , then go ahead and hand-wash it in whatever detergent you have...The detergent in this sweater will not make any differences anyway if you get it wet......GOOD LUCK!!!

If you've already washed it, and it turned out okay, just keep using whatever you were using. Era is too strong for that mix of rayon, nylon and rabbit fur. If you insist on washing it instead of dry cleaning it, use a very mild baby soap and don't wring it. Just squeeze it as dry as you can and lay it flat to dry.

I don't think the type of detergent you use matters. If you aren't going to dry clean, go for the one that smells best too you. I like Gain.

use woolite. it's gentle on fabrics. just make sure you put it on the gentle cycle in the washer, take it out immediatly & either hang it, or lay it out so it won't loose it's shape.
