In 2000 they took a bunch of rural towns, like Bobcaygeon, formed a City Of Kawartha Lakes. In 2003 they held a referendum that allowed them to opt out if they wanted. The results were YES we wanted out. The Liberal gov't of the province promised to honour it, but didn't. We are 3000 sq. kilometers with 70,000 people and way more cows. Democracy died in Canada, should someone invade us?

Yes, you should get the natives to come in and take over! The province will back off immediately and you will, in all likelihood, never see them again!

No need to ask the Harpercracy that is currently ruining all of Canada is a total lackey of a foreign power anyway.
BTW, democracy has been in trouble for a long time. The "free" trade agreements have essentially gutted the democratic process by making international constitutions that entrench the privilege of the rich corporations at the expense of the hard earned citizen rights that people thought had been won over time.
