In Fight Club, Jack said hopelessness was freedom and it let him sleep like a baby.
However, most people do not choose sleeping as their main goal in life.
Goals and hope for achieving them propel people through life.
My mother, Liane, and Nanny Stella and the Super Nanny would be feeling less ashamed and disappointed if they had been less hopeful and less sure of themselves in their plans for making me more like Butters.

it can be if you let it. If you hope for something and it does not happen for whatever reason, then you are dissapointed, the key is to bounce back and not let it win you over. We cannot live and be happy without hope.

Hopelessness is what's dangerous.
Uselessness and apathy are dangerous.
Hope and the possibility to create, change and improve the future are the only things of any real value.
