Modern Language Assiciation..

It's a format to standardize the way documents are submitted..
There are lots of rules, but the most basic are:

1" margins
12pt Times New Roman
Double Space
No douelbe return betwene paragraphs.
Indents on paragraphs are 1/2"

Your header shoudl be flush left and should be the following information

Your Name
Your Instructors Name
Your Class
Date (European format: 12 Sept 2006)

You can search MLA online and gets lots of links to other schools or other resources.

There are rules regarding you Works Cited page as well. Search Amazon or Half.com or books regarding the subject. Also, check out the Citation Machine (search this to get the correct webstie address).

Put mla into a search engine and you will find many sites that describe exactly what it means. It is a format that your teacher wants you to use to write your paper and cite your sources.

MLA (modern language association) is a style of citation.
