Ecklie isn't that smart. I took it to mean that he was simply being snarky becasue she sided with Grissom instead of him. What I got from their looks was something like 'uh oh, do you think he knows something about us that he shouldn't or is he just being his weird self?'.
It's one of those things that's up to the viewer to decide.

What I think it ment was that Sara always sides with Grissom whether she thinks he's right or not. I dont think that Ecklie is onto them he was just being the prick he is. He always makes snide remarks when it comes to Grissom and his team. I think their look was just 'what did that mean' and maybe 'does he know about us'.

Ecklie's a jerk but I think he was just pissed because Sara was on Grissons side. I don't think he knows anything, he's not that smart lol.
