It can be any genre or time period, but if it's pretty obscure, send a link so I can verify it's a real band.
For my money, I'd say Hoobastank, with Vertical Horizon being a close second. Hoobastank, because it's a clutch of nonsense syllables that sounds like they came up with it in a jr. high locker room. Vertical Horizon, because it sounds like the sort of pretentious idea imagined by a none-too-bright stoner.

Oh, and this doesn't have anything to do with the relative musical quality of any of the bands. Just the names. I don't want a bunch of raving Gnarls Barkley fans tracking me down.

liv4tennis92 brings up a good point: Panic! At the Disco There's been a sort of trend by way of odd punctuation. The other thing that bugs me is bands like The Hold Steady or The Have Mercy, where the "the" just doesn't belong.
And each next one thinks they're so clever for coming up with it.
Also, I think Dead Kennedys works pretty well considering the way they play. It fits with their style of tasteless, dark humor.
