chik4jesus needs to get the hell out of the U.S. The U.S. offers more opportunities to immigrants than any other nation on earth. We, as a people, are generally friendly... but there are exceptions. I once sponsored 3 students from Sweden. They lived with me and my family for 4 years. We all loved every minute of their stay. When they graduated and moved back to Sweden we stayed in contact for decades. Eventually, they all moved back to the U.S.

There was an old man sitting on the side of a road leading into a large town. He watched as pilgrims entered and left this town day in and day out.

One day a traveler stopped to ask, “What is it like in the city up the road?”

“Well what was it like where you came from,” ask the old man.

“Oh it was horrible; the people were rude, there were nothing to do and life was a struggle. That is why I left to come here.”

“I am sorry to say that there is nothing different here. You will find that the people are crass, life is a harsh and boredom abounds.”

The traveler shook his head in disgust and continued on his way.

Hours later another traveler stopped and asked the old man, “What is the city up the road like?”

“Well what was it like where you came from,” the old man asked once again.

“I loved it, the people were pleasant, you could always find things to do and life was a joy there. I was sorry to leave.”

The old man smiled and said, “I am happy to inform you that you will find the people here are nice, there are many things to occupy your time and life is wonderful in the city.”

The traveler grinned and thanked the old man as he resumed his journey into the city.

NOTE: I could not find this parable so I recreated it to the best of my ability. I hope it helps you.

Lots of commercialization.
Lots of different jobs.
All sorts of night clubs.
People from nearly every nation.
Politics going down hill.
Noise, pollution, traffic.
If you can shut it all out, it can be nice.
