Why are the masses so stupid as to be manipulated by political parties? God, it's frustrating. I don't care whether you're liberal or conservative, it seems so many people just follow the party because of the name, and they will defend it to the death.

I just posted a question like this the other day and I totally agree. Tell me why is the act of voting such a privledge when our choices are so limited? I've said about a billion times that I would rather make decisions on isses based on the facts, not whether the party agrees or disagrees. But just as Chris Rock said, "Anyone who makes up their mind before they hear the issue is a complete idiot." Yet people don't want to hear this. You probably won't get many people responding to this question because they would rather debate, and defend their party's actions than be original thinkers with new ways to shape society. We have such a narrow dialogue these days that can only do more harm to the country. But no one is interested in that, it's not juicy enough for them.

Democracy is perhaps not the best form of government Seth Ramkishan Dalmia, an Indian industrialist in an interview with a foreign correspondent, had opined that dictatroship-world dictatorship was the best form. Asked b the amused interviewer, who according to Sethji would make the best dictator the Sethji politely suggested that if none is available he would be willing to take on the onerous responsibility. That is the difficulty with dictatorships becuse sooner or later the dictator would consider himself as the saviour with all the conseuences flowing from it. The beauty with democracy lies in the possibility it offfers to replace him.At times there may be nothing wrong with the presiding officer only that he becomes increasingly anachronistic.America is facing the polls in a short time and then we can try our hands to get a bettter replacement to Bush. Not all our choces were bad. Certainly not Abe Lincoln,Kennedy,Clintor. The masses are not stupid as you fear. They are patient but when the time comes they pull down the highest from his chair and the American public will as you will see soon.Democracy has its own rules and regulations which can be defied only to our own peril. The wisdom of these rules becomes apparent over time.

You can blame it all on Karl Rove, who demonized the Democratic Party in an effort to get a very unprepared less than intelligent candidate ,George Bush elected. The Democrates have see how effective this is and are now giving the Republicans a dose of their own medicine. Hopefully they can come up with an intelligent candidate.

I agree. But that is impossible because they wouldn't even be voted in. You said it yourself how people defend their party to death and that means they would die before voting for the other one. If a candidate didn't compromise on some ideas, then they would only get half (or less) of the votes and lose. We can have an intelligent one but genuine is hard (although I would say Clinton was pretty genuine).

better of our desktops are engaged to predict climate. yet ants beat us any time. 3 days forward, a minimum of predicting rain! on the banks of river Yamuna or so, those weaver birds build nests on branches overhanging the river, for the time of Feb, and the year they build those nests some inches bigger, the water interior the river rises bigger for the time of monsoon season! it is not stupidity, so it must be intelligence. those greatest manufacturers of oxygen (algae), reprogrammed their cellular point intelligence, to reproduce themselves to be waiting to stand up to poisonous wastes enable right into a river in Russia, and over some generations, those algae released some powerful antitoxins in water, which stay in water even whilst boiled or filtered. scientific human beings have been anxious, and the newspaper record suggested "beware, understand ecosystem, or perish. those antitoxins have been extra deadly than HIV, the record suggested, without common antidote!". regardless of all this, we are extra acceptable in intelligence, yet not by potential of 'default'. .. No derivatives are needed. only one common 'element' without which all different derivatives become redundant. we've that "self-awareness". If we .. or... each and every time we...... have not got that, there is not any distinction!

Because humanity is a huge amount of brain-dead sheep looking for a strong person to tell them what to do.

And a few rational, intelligent people that feel really outnumbered.

Because their stomachs are full, and their TV has 999 sports channels. Such abundance leads to apathy, and the apathetic are disinclined to exercise their brain to do anything other than accept the status quo. Bah-ah-ah. Bah-ah-ah.
