The Knicks will be a much better team based on the fact that Larry Brown is no longer a member of our organization. From reading what has been said in this thread, many felt the Knicks lacked team play and "suck(ed)" as a result of it. My question to you is how do you expect a team to play as a team when the coach himself sabotaged the efforts to build chemistry by not establishing a set rotation and starting 43 different lineups? Cohesion on the floor is begun through fimilarity and understanding the manner your teammates operate to the extent where is second nature. Fimilarity could only be started through consistency with players which Brown did not give the Knicks all last season. It's clear that his intention was to have Isiah fired so he could have sole control over Knick operations.

Bringing in Isiah Thomas alone will help improve this roster. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that this roster has a bunch of talent. Most feel that the pieces don't mix but I believe that is a falsy. Basketball is a versatile enough game where you can find a common ground for most to operate on and be successful. It is up to the coach to identify the team's strengths and attempt to strengthen their weakness'. I expect Isiah to run the ball which is the strength of the team on offense and expect for him to play zone on the other end of the ball which Larry Brown was to foolish to do. You take into account that the Knicks have added solid ball defenders that also double as glue guys on offense and that is reason enough to make the playoffs. You factor in the growth of our young players, who will be major components of the team this season, and that is reason enough to believe we give teams a run for their money in the playoffs.

I'm a knicks fan and i dont think they will be better. The players are selfish and dont work as a team. They cant move the ball down the court and nobody is going to step up and be the michael jordan kind of player that this team needs to get back on top where they belong

The knicks are not going to be better this year. Someone was pulling your leg. They don't have a team, only individual players who are being paid to much, to do to little.

Two words. Renaldo Balkman!

Just kidding, the only reasons they could be better are that Larry "Buyout" Brown is gone and Jared Jeffries was brought in to do some much needed grunt work

The Knicks are over-priced, over-blown and over the salary cap.

Let me tell ya, no matter who the NY Knicks get, they are still going to suck

Because they can't get much worse. It will be nice to see Isiah suffer on the bench each night, since he's the one responsible for putting together this underachieving, over paid roster.

If by "better" you mean more entertaining as in a soap opera, I think Isiah is the reason why.

If by "better," you mean more wins...uh, that franchise is a train wreck. I laugh in your general direction, Mr, Starbury.

Yours,

Bernard King

Even the best coach (Larry Brown) can't control the team so the answer is no
