As I was traveling thru the US yesterday I stopped off in a restroom in Illinois on the back of the door was this sign. PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH tampons, pads, liners and diapers. As tampons pads and liners state they are flushable to put this sign makes sense. My question is how stupid does a person have to be to flush a diaper? This sign thing is getting a little out of hand. Do not use the hairdryer while bathing. Do not touch the iron when hot. Do not eat the bag of silicon in most products. Do these signs need to be put into Adult products? Are we all so incompetent we have to be told "caution maybe hot" on a cup of coffee??? What ever happen to common sense did it go out style?

This really bothers me, too. I cannot for the life of me understand what some people use for brains. The most common, ignorant thing that keeps me thinking such negative thoughts is such a simple one: There will be a trash can (maybe one on each side!) and people will throw their garbage, cigarettes, FOOD, crap, you name it on the ground NEXT to the trash....What is that!!!!?
So, maybe yes. Some people need 1,2,3 instructions to use their heads....

You know, a lot of caution and warning signs are put up because those ridiculous things have, unbelievably, happened before. I think, at one point, someone tried to flush a diaper. The owner was just covering his butt, because people really are that stupid.

as someone who has had to put up some of these signs i have just come to except the fact that you should never underestimate the stupidity of the general public. some fool somewhere will do something stupid and blame someone else and that's where we get lawsuits from. we have become a sue happy society. so yes we must cover our butts.

They might be flushable, but that doesn't mean that it is the right thing to do - that stuff creates problems at treatment plants and can plug up bad plumbing systems. Also, they are bad for septic systems, if the restroom uses one.

As hard to believe as itis; someone probably tried to do it somewhere in the world. To protect themself, the business owner had to put warnings to avoid someone doing that and then suing the business owner for not telling them NO.

It is a CYA world and unfortunately common sense is not so common. People do stupid things because they do not think.(I suppose they can think it just takes too much effort)

Common sense, street smarts, I have met alot of people that do not have it. I don't know if it's because they are not taught when they are being raised or what.
