Equilibrium starring Christian Bale if there had not been the Matrix, this movie would have been it.
Phantom of the Paradise 1974 starring Paul Williams and Directed by Brian dePalma Funny as hell, if dated.
Speaking of Hell, Prince of Darkness 1986 directed by John Carpenter one of the scariest and thought provoking pictures ever
None was terribly successful in the theatres, but I own each and watch them at least once every few years.
And Exorcist III I thought it was better than the original.
