This has been going on for ages, but the two I can think of off the top of my head are Armageddon and Deep Impact, and more recently, The Black Dahlia and Hollywoodland. Anybody else notice this and what examples can you think of?

There were two volcano movies that came out one after the other. One was called "Volcano" I think and I can't remember the name of the other one. One had Tommy Lee Jones and the other had Pierce Brosnan. I have noticed that trend too. I think Hollywood is running out of ideas.

truly, videos about apocalypses were quite common on the right of the Nineteen Nineties.... you understand... with the twelve months 2000 drawing close. organic disaster flicks typically were huge in the late Nineteen Nineties and they appeared to come back out in pairs. Like tornado and tornado (1996), Volcano and Dante's height (1997). Then the apocalyptic ones like end of Days and the 9th Gate (1999). various different 'paired' videos as well come to options, like 'The Truman teach' and 'EdTV', 'ANTZ and 'A malicious program's existence', and so on and so on.

Yeah, it does seem to happen all the time .. Outbreak and some other Virus movie . . .recently the Illusionist, and some other magician in a period piece in a few weeks.

Ants and It's a bugs life, Shark Tale and Finding Nemo.... Argh I had a bunch more earlier. Not much help now though, I know....

I have noticed that, I saw that "the wild" and "madagascar" ae alot alike but madagascar came out about a month sooner or so. they both revolve around animals at a zoo that get stuck on an island and are funny and can talk!

Many chick flicks are like that and I never understood why! Or, how they could actually copy one. Usually one in the movies will come out then there will be one on TV like it!
