He's been great, but I'd have to say that Maddux and Clemens have been better. Maybe Randy Johnson, too. But, don't get me wrong, I'd still take him. I watched him pitch a game about 6 years ago and he was hitting 97 on the gun with the fastball, then would turn around and throw a 74 mph change up or breaking pitch. Unhittable. Seems like a good guy, too, easy to root for.

Depends what generation you are putting him in. Greg Maddux, Clemens, Schilling, Galvine all came in the early-mid 80's, so if you left them out the he's still neck and neck with Randy Johnson (even though Johnson is 10 years older they came up within 4 years of each other) he's currently 206 and 92 one of only a handfull of pitchers who has100 more wins than losses (22 in Major League history).
I would give the edge to Pedro at this point in time because of ERA. And Johnson was a little wild much like Nolan Ryan in his early career. and I would put Mussina right behind those two. Even though in the last few years Mussina has been more reliable. And I would take Mussina over either Pedro or Johnson if i was a GM since he has been more reliable the last two years, and seems to have not loss his stuff as much as Pedro and Johnson is over 40 already.

first of all he won't get a ring this year cuz their pitching really sux now that he is out for the year. and second Roger Clemens is the best pitcher. even at 44 he continues to dominate.

so i dont know about this.... but there is this one guy named roger out there still pitching... he is 42, got a lot of wins, over 4000 strikeouts, mulitiple cy youngs. works harder during the offseason then any other pitcher. and a great guy, kinda overdramatic. but you need to think about him. pedro makes the top 10, but not top 5 for these last few decades

I couldn't agree with you any more. Pedro is great. You know he is great when Roger Clemens ran away from the Red Sox, because he didn't want to pitch in Pedro's shadow.

He's a first-balloter on an average ballot.
His long fingers let him get a lot of spin on the ball. He throws all his pitches from the same arm-angle, which makes them harder to figure out.
I try not to get too crazy about him, because he might have been on performance enhancers.

MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE IT IS ROGER CLEMENS. WHO DID NOT RUNAWAY FROM THE RED SOX BECAUSE HE DID NOT WANT TO BE IN PEDRO'S SHADOW, BECAUSE THEIR BIRD BRAINED GM BELIEVED HE WAS WASHED UP. LOL.
