Secret terror prisons are just fine in a country that is a religious or ideological dictatorship.

But there's a problem -- once the prisoners are completely terrified, they'll say anything. The intelligence you get out of torture is low quality.

Example, we beat a high-level prisoner into stating that enriched uranium was being imported into Iraq from Nigeria. But the prisoner only said that out of fear of death -- it wasn't true. But the USA told the United Nations that we were sure there were active programs for weapons of mass destruction going on in Iraq.

We weren't lying -- we misinformed ourselves. Even through we've known since the 1970's that torture is an unreliable way to get information.

It is not OK!!! What are we the new millenium Nazi's. Making Terror prisons, with barbed wire, and secret locations is sounding like Auschwitz to me. I think you should read the book
" Behold a Pale Horse". It tells about the true intentions of or government, the hopes of a " New World Order" and a bunch of other things. For example, the author of the books claims to have seen documents stating that the AIDS virus is man-made, and if thats true , then we are all in trouble as the tension and hate within this world grows.

No there are not.

they go against the geneva convention. Rules of war we follow (or used to) and other countries followed to make sure that certian horrors want be done in war. Now there is less reason to believe that our enemies (of this or any other future war we may get into) will follow this and are soliders will be the ones to face the consequences.

also beating a guy sensless who turns out to be innocent is the easiest way to create new terrorist.

Oh yeah, it's brilliant! So where exactly should it stop? If our government can house war prisoners in secret prisoners without legal representation or fair treatment under the rules of the Geneva Convention, what's to stop it from deciding that YOU are an 'enemy of the state' and YOU should be held in a 'secret prison' and beaten senseless until YOU give them the answers they want to hear?
Our U.S. government must never be above our own laws. If it is, then we have no law and order; and we ultimately have no protection under our laws.
If we treat enemies abusively or inhumanely, it's just a very fine line between that and the government deciding that YOU are its enemy, and if YOU become a target of a tyrannical government then we no longer live in a free republic. We live in a police state ruled by evil despots who dictate to YOU how you must live, what religion you must practice, what your sexual persuasion must be, and if you're eligible to be part of the "perfect race" or if YOU should be part of the "final solution". I doubt you're old enough to remember Hitler's massacre of six million Jews, but if YOU honestly believe it's okay for our government - or any government - to run ripshod over its Constitution, its own laws, or basic humanity, you are headed for a rude awakening one day when the 'thought police' knock on YOUR door and haul yo off to prison because your skin is the wrong color or you speak with a Boston accent, or you don't believe in Jesus Christ.
No, sir....secret prisons are NOT okay in any civilized society. YOU should be ashamed of your self and your government for even thinking in such cruel and inhumane ways. -RKO-

Yeah I heard about this recently...many of them haven't been built yet, just a mass of land surrounded by barbed wire and a shelter to hold few hundred. Then they will make the prisoners build their own camp. Incase of a mass war. US is preparing alright.

if we shall not treat them the same - they will win, and be sure that than you will not have any chance to ask this question again...
