Ever hear one of those commercials:
(fictional)
"Zymanitrex helps me stay awake..blah blah whatever"
Then you hear something like:
"Zymanitrex is not for everybody. If you ever taken cold medicine before, consult your doctor before taking Zymanitrex.
Side effects include, nausea, dizzyness, temporary blindness, hearing deficit, loss of appitite, frequent bowel movements, and small rashes.
In rare cases, Zymanitrex has cause blood clotting, stroke, heart-attack, and nose bleeding..."
Why the hell would pharmecutical companies approve something like that, yet marijuana is illegal?
Does that seem right to any of you? It seems ************ to me.

Correction What I mean is how could something approved by FDA like that be considered okay enough to be legal, and weed isnt?

Actually I'm doing a research of the properties of marijuana and it's 1000000 better than prescripted drugs, and the side effects can be removed form the plant components leaving just the medicine part. believe it or not it can help to control depression, relieve pain, and it could be use a source of paper and clothes.

Thanks for the ranting polemic... I think perhaps that diamorphine might be pretty useful to someone with terminal cancer don't you think? Maybe even an asthmatic might be quite grateful for the contents of their inhaler. You seem to be arguing, as many pot proselytisers do, that all the medically important drugs and alcohol (western society's drug of choice) are bad killers whilst good 'ole pot is harmless! Absolute keech my friend. What about the 12-yr old with psychotic problems caused by smoking a hugely powerful genetically selected strain of skunk. Are you seriously suggesting that this may have beneficial effects for the unfortunate user. What if it was yr kid with a baggie full of skunk? Aye, not so sure now eh? People can have huge problems with cannabis and some don't. Anyway, polemic aside, I think yr question is actually a wee bit flawed as most people I know (and I don't move in especially 'odd' circles) DON'T actually think that illegal drugs are automatically worse than prescription drugs; most of them take them from time to time. LOL!!

Marijuana isn't half as bad as some of the drugs that doctors prescribe to people. Most drugs are bad in the long run, they all have side effects.
I would do marijuana before a lot of prescription drugs because of the health risks. Many drugs are more addicting, cause more health problems, ie blood clots and cancer, and change your personality.

No, I think marijuana is far safer than most prescription drugs. It works better with far less side effects. I live in Oregon where we have legalized medical marijuana, but there are so many stipulations and you can still lose your job by using it even though you do have a prescription.

The side effects always sound worse than the original symptoms!!!!!! Personally I think marijuana should be legalized. It helps a lot of people handle chronic pain when pain medication doesn't. There will always be people who abuse it but they also abuse prescription drugs!

No I would say its not. But it can cause some side effects . Also its pyscho - active it makes you think funny thoughts in your head. It does cause paranoia , its not just cuz its illegal. It can cause panic attacks. In reality no medication is good for you.
Weed is not bad in moderation - its 420 time kiddies:)

I heard that it is partially because of how long it stays in your system. For DUIs, or workmans comp issues, no one would ever be able to prove if you were doing it at a certain time, or if it was yesterday, or a week ago.
