Tell me 3 things why or why not? Where a good neighborhood to live near Virginia Beach.

Virginia is a good place to make a living because the taxes are medium-to-low, the state has a great credit rating, the freeways are in good shape and it is 9th in per capital income nationwide.
If you have a choice, you want NORTHERN VIRGINIA instead of Virginia Beach because that's where the money is --Fairfax County.
For the Virginia Beach area, consider living a couple of blocks from the beach (much cheaper than on the beach itself) or off Witchduck Road or in Chesapeake (avoid Norfolk and Portsmouth due to crime rates). Don't like in Hampton or Newport News because you can get stuck in commuter traffic trying to get across the water to Virginia Beach.
I worked in Virginia for 27 years -- then took the retirement money and fled to a cheap place to retire!

I would stay away from Northern Virginia unless you love traffic. Every year it is rated #1 for the worst commute in the country or sometimes #2, after L.A, and it is still growing in leaps and bounds with no room for new roads. Also, the cost of living in No. VA is very high. If you are in a high income bracket that's fine but if you are middle income it makes it hard to survive.
Virginia Beach is a nice area. I like Virginia Beach over the rest of the tidewater area. Virginia as a whole is a great state. Politically, it is conservative except for Richmond and Northern Virginia.

I moved up to PA last year from VA Beach I would move back at a drop of a dime The Virginia Beach area is very expensive and well worth it as well. I Hate PA and I am planning to move out of as soon as my house sells. I would say don't think about the move just do it you will never regret it the area has grown so much if you have not been there within the last two years you are going to be extremely surprised Go and take me with ya.

I've visited there and think it's an amazingly beautiful place.The only problem that kind of drove me nuts was when I was there was staying on the beach. There must be a military base nearby because helicopters kept buzzing by all night creating a lot of disturbance as well as vibrating the walls and floors. If you like peace and quiet that ain't the place to go! Are you used to living around a place that gets a lot of tourists? You'll have to deal with that if you move there.It's nicer away from the beach but if you have a desire to be close to all the action no matter what then it's the place to be.

yes you should. but you should go for northern VA. i live in arlington county. there are the best schools in the county here plus great places to live and shop. its near Washington and the people are great
