My Office Manager always insisted on taking the 14 to the 58. It's out of the way, depending on where you're starting from, but very little traffic. Apparently you also drive by the abandoned airplane graveyard

Well, there is no way to avoid heavy traffic in LA, but starting out later in the evening should help. I agree with the other poster. Check out the traffic conditions for your best route. Have fun in Vegas.

I would seriously consider flying vs. driving. With the major construction starting on I-15, and the potential shutdowns will have an impact. Being from Vegas, I love to drive, but will not drive I-15 to LA until this is complete. I think CA is supposed to put out a timeline when all of this is supposed to take place, so I would pay close attention and hopefully, will not disrupt your travel plans.

Traffic is very unpredictable. Sometime we skipped the 10 or 91 by taking the 210 to the 15. Check out the the traffic tracker before you leave.

How about going up to the 126 and catching the Pearblossom Hwy?
I've went that way before but I don't remember what day of the week we went on, but there was very little traffic.
Also be aware of the DayFire situation before choosing that route.
Good luck and have a safe trip!!

7 pm on a friday forget about it. All other days should be low traffic. 91 east to 15 north... remember about the road closures coming up on I-15...

Hop a plane. From my experience (go back and forth regularly), the only time it's reasonable is to leave LA round 4 am on a Sunday. Other than that, it's completely unpredictable.

anticipate a minimum of SIX hours because of the fact it is going to be a motor vehicle park. 3 day weeks are continually undesirable undesirable undesirable. Leaving Saturday morning would not be a very smart thought. i might leave previous due Friday night or fly.
