Rosa Parks? it really is fairly humorous actually. i will apply that any further. Shotgun changed into from the former degree coach days the position the driver had to have the reigns to stress the crew of horses, so yet another human being had to take a seat beside him with a shot gun to look after hostile to desperadoes. Shot guns were used because the vast spray of shot changed into extra absolute to hit a purpose from a shifting motor vehicle than a rifle or pistol bullet.

Bsck in the day, when a stagecoach hauled people and goods across the prairies, there was a driver and a guard. The guard was generally armed with a shotgun as he sat next to the driver, therefore if you sit in the passenger seat you are riding shotgun!

It comes from the old stage coach days. As stage coaches started getting robbed in the west, the stage coach companies started adding a second person up front with the "driver." He was there to protect the stage coach and it's passengers - he had a shotgun... so it was called "riding shotgun" as he sat next to the driver.

Stems from the days of stage coaches when there was one man on the seat that held the shotgun for protection.

Because back in the days of stage coaches, a extra man sat on the right and carried the shotgun in case of robbery.

Old stage coach term. The guy on the drivers right held the shotgun.

I think that's a hillbilly/redneck thing; the guy with the shotgun sits in the passenger seat so they can shoot while the other person is concentrated on driving

that's where the shooter sat. Either on the stagecoach or maybe even the bootleggers when they were running moonshine. I'm sure both probably.
Do the gangstas say that before a drive by?
