Sure they can. I was 80% effaced 2 cm dialated and went into to be induced the following morning. I went into labor at the hospital that night before they had a chance to! As for you, I think you should tell your doctor you are open to it.

I doubt dr will induce since you're not overdue, but sometimes if dr is going to be out of town or something and you really want him to deliver they will make an exception. However...having been induced with one and went natural with the other, I say wait it out. You're almost there, a few more days isn't going to hurt...however the labor and delivery does! Take care!!! Congratulations!!

unless there is a medical reason to induce you they WON'T and SHOULDN'T do it early. i have known too many babies born a week early that "should" have been healthy and weren't. What's another week or two for the sake of your child? You think pregnancy is miserable, wait until you're sitting in NICU with a child dying from underdeveloped lungs.

you are on your way hun, Drs are just gonna let you go with your natural course....you are not overdue or anything, so I don't see why they should. If you take toolong they might give you some medicine to help speed up the process. I know is hard, but you are almost there.......good luck
