kiprusoff, goalies make up half the stats. There are less of them and the good ones are gone quick. Plus there are great forwards to be taken later in the draft.

LW is the next most important spot.

I had 12th pick and killed in my league
1. (12) R. Luongo G
2. (13) M. Naslund LW
3. (36) P. Kariya LW
4. (37) T. Selanne RW
5. (60) T. Bertuzzi RW
6. (61) M. Sundin C
7. (84) B. Richards C
8. (85) D. Boyle D
9. (108) M. Denis G
10. (109) M. Hejduk RW
11. (132) B. Berard D
12. (133) J. Theodore G

The key to winning a head to head league is to get good players from the ducks, oilers, and canucks.

If you look at the schedule, they play of the off nights. Therefore you need one from these teams for each position. You will get more players in each week and more stats

Thornton for sure should be #1. Not only does he have the skill, but also the team and linemates that he can feed the puck to. Ovechkin is a one man army with no support and Jagr (although a veteran and sure to put up big numbers) is injury prone and will not play the whole season. As for the goalie... There are plenty of quality 'tenders that will be left in the 2nd round, maybe even Mikka will still be available. If not, Brodeur is a sure bet or even my dark horse... Huet of the Canadiens (He has alot more support this year). Good luck!

I would say Oveckin first, then maybe Thornton. Those are the two best options. Goalies really depend on the defense and Jagr is a star, but a fading one.

Sid the newborn. he's the perfect all round hockey participant in the league. My 2d might want to be Ovechkin and third might want to be Malkin. Evgeni had a large season very last twelve months definite, yet i truly do not imagine he will lead the league again in factors. GL

Thornton - he'll give you lots of points, powerplay points, and a larger +/- than Ovecheckin or Jagr. Never take a goalie with pick one.
