Yes, you can.BUT the engineer who designed the engine put tubing there!Probably because it is in a position where it could be affected by high engine heat.Although I'm intelligent,I'm not smarter than said engineer.Replace it with the correct part.

Uhhh......I guess you "could".
The rubber compound is different, and may breakdown fast with hot anitfreeze flowing thru it under pressure.
