I have these peppers growing in my garden that look exactly like a cherry tomato. They are QUITE hot. They start out green, then red or dark purple color. I have no idea what they are, when to pick them (when they are green or red) and what to do with them. I live in New Mexico. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated!!!

Those are cherry peppers. Most often, they're served stuffed, and that's a good thing because they're not as hot when the seeds are removed. Here is one recipe, http://www.nandyala.org/mahanandi/archives/2005/09/14/hot-stuffed-cherry-peppers/ , and if you do a yahoo search for "stuffed cherry peppers" you will find a lot more.

The cherry peppers you buy in jars are pickled. You might try pickling yours.
