i think what you need to do if find a goal that you want to achieve. for example, if you want to get a certain time at a competition, just keep telling yourself to fight for it. sometimes when i feel like i dont want to keep going and want to quit, i just have to tell myself that all my hard work will pay off in the end. i think it helps.

some things help me. I make goals. I want to make varsity this year. I want to break a minute in my 100 free. Set some goals for your self.
I sing songs in my head when I swim to keep me ocupied. I, during back stroke, put water in my mouth and spit it straigth up and see how much I can get back into my mouth.

When I get tired or out of breath, I do really slow swimming and glide a lot. It helps you develop good technique too.

Maybe just think you have to do it, you know? Like when I do that, I just kind of zone out...come back to reality when I have to do a turn, but otherwise, you know? Or just think it's good for you. That works for me. Or try to be the fastest person there.

i have the same problem. i find that ignoring the pain is great. i zone out and occupy my time. like i either concentrate on a little aspect of my stroke. you should set goals and get a role model. that all helps.
good luck!!!

my coach always tells me the harder you work at swimming/or anysport...the better you will feel after practice at the end of the day
the faster you swim the more rest you get...so go FASTER

Think of the benefit of practicing, such as improving your times in the meets.
