OK, one in Canada, one in Chechnya several years ago, compared to how many in the US in the last ten years? Ten? 15?

Other countries control handgun ownership. In the US we allow practically anyone to own a gun. A lot of those guns are stolen and wind up in the wrong hands, or a child finds it and uses it without proper training or knowledge.

Reference Canada and Chechnya for recent examples.

Sadly, it's become clearly evident that now, even our public and private schools ALL need a REAL form of security / police protection for innocent school children against crazed gun toting students and perverse criminal thugs. Frankly, I'm amazed our schools nationwide have gone this far until now without a call for such protection for innocent school children.

Why this has suddenly become a problem is glaringly evident: dangerously dysfunctional students and people all want their face and name smathered worldwide on newspapers and TV-- they thirst / hunger for the attention. And today, our media can deliver the goods minutes after tragedy strikes and broadcast it world wide.

I think President Bush must call upon Homeland Security to put in place security / police staffed entrances/exits in ALL United States schools--BOTH public and private.

Money should NOT be an issue when it comes to the safety of our school children--and any politician, regardless of GOP party affilitaion, who balks on the money issue of this suggestion should be recalled and tossed out of office. And they need to be reminded by concerned citizen groups on how easy it IS to get an elected official recalled out of a job.

And we as voters ALL must contact our elected officials--by letter, phone, e-mail or in person--- and RASIE HELL they work fast to overhaul the "legal" protections criminal minor age children currently have.

Don't think for one second these crazed dysfunctional kids aren't aware that they can commit virtually any heinous crime as minors---and skate away from it all upon their 18th birthday with a full clean slate.

In the United States, kids CAN kill and get a free pass!!!! Such vicious children need to be treated as adults--and if so be: sentenced the rest of their lives in the prison system.

To Hell with what the ACLU and other liberal oppositionist groups debate otherwise: today, our country needs tougher child criminal laws and they need to be on the books NOW!!!!

Americans are too seperated by class. In most countries the haves and have nots are seperated. In America, they sometimes have to school them together, the have nots build up a hate against the haves. People tease others too much here. I swear that every school should have uniforms and every overweight kid should have a special diet and exercise program so that we are all similar enough to not be made fun of. Not to mention too many people have guns - although I am not saying guns should be illegal, I think owning hunting guns should be ok.

No there have been several in Canada. Also, the WORST school shooting in history happened in Europe.

Compare the gun ownership in the USA with other countries, add to this the job we do with mental patients. In my small area 4 mental clinics are going under within 30 days leaving at least 10000 people without mental help.

In America things seem to be easy oozy ..no-one see's any bad in anyone.. here in Glasgow we take our children's security seriously.. in my sons school there is even an on site Police office.
CC-TV is every where.. Its a pity having our children educated in Jail like environments ..but its a crazy bad world out there..I feel so sad for those poor parents in the states..

They probably do. We may not hear of it because our media is too busy trying to make this country look bad. Also, some countries don't have as many guns in open circulation. That does not make them less violent, however. France, for example, has many more incidents of rioting than we do. If you think rioting isn't as violent as a school shooting, think again.

Well you've got to have a school to attend to get shot there for starters. The rest of the world, or a large part of it it, is getting up every day and struggling to stay alive, they don't seem to have time for all the absurdities we Americans do.

Maybe they just do not have
as much publicity as over here.

All our news programs are
just aching for something
to happen so they can fill
up their on-the-air-time!

Can you imagine that there
would only be 45 minutes
worth of news to put in
an hour of air time?

Possibly overseas they only
have news as 'news' and
not as entertainment.
