The last time that we had sex was 2 weeks ago today. Given that that was my ovualtion time, would the test be Positive by now if I was pregnant? Does the implantation of the egg have to be completed before it starts to excrete the hormones detected in pregnancy tests?

yes, sometimes the HCG level is NOT high enough for the home test to show! BEST WISHES

It is possible to be pregnant after having sex two weeks ago and getting a negative pregnancy result. It takes between 6 to 12 days for a fertilized egg to travel to the uterus and attach to the lining. Then it takes about one or two days for the hcg pregnancy hormone to be released into your body, thus detected in your urine by a pregnancy test. Wait until the day or day after your period is due and test again.

The egg must be fertilized and implant before enough hormones will be secreted to confirm w/ a home pregnancy test (although some hormones are produced upon conception, they are not significant enough until the embryo has actually implanted & begun to multiply). Most home pregnancy tests, regardless of their sensitivites, are not meant to be used until the day of your expected period.

If you're preg than you're probably already producing the hormones that the preg tests detect for but just not in high enough levels to make the 2nd line appear on the stick. Wait until its time for your period to check! Good luck!

It usually takes about 5 days after a missed period for hcg to reach a level detectable by the EARLY tests. Also, you should have FMU for testing since it will have a higher concentration.

I think you should wait to take a PG test until 5 days after your expected period. It takes awhile for the pg hormones to build up and get detected by the test.

Not Neceissarily. With my daugher I was 8 weeks pregnant and never got a positive reading on a home prego test! I would wait a until your period is due and then maybe go get a blood test.

Not sur eont eh implntation /egg part........

Good Luck - sounds like you want to be pregnant. =)

You may also or will not be. My personal experience is that all of my checks were positive about 4 days after lacking my period. The only method to recognize for certain is to head see your health care provider and they may be able to doa blood experiment. The urine experiment they do is the same as an hpt. You would simply be stressing yourself out and delaying your interval otherwise you might have simply had a lighter than usual interval.
