I just went to my first appointment with the doc! I am having the exact same sensation! Gagging and gagging! I haven't actually vomited yet! My doc said it is because of the rising hormonal levals which affect every woman differently. She said gagging without vomiting is a cause of the rising hormones. I am suffering with it really badly and I've found it helps to turn that gag reflex into a cough! I know it sounds wierd, but it's a nice way to cover it up in public! Good Luck!

I've heard several different things that worked for different people. 1) protien- lots of it. Try and start with a protien shake in the morning. 2) eat something as soon as you wake up and thoughout the day (saltine crackers work well). You don't have to eat a lot just enbough to keep a little something in you until the morning sickness passes 3) I too have heard that ginger is great for nausea. Ginger Ale!
Good luck. At least it typically only last until about the 3rd month

I just came from the dr and asked the same thing...he told me to just suffer through it. There are things they can give you but it's better if you can just go without. He told me to not really eat large meals, but to just eat little bits all day long. Also sucking on hard candy helps. Since you're not actually throwing up, just try to eat what sounds good, a little at time. That's what I have to do. I'm sure its embarrassing in public, but at least you have an excuse! USE IT! :) Take care!

it could be you are feeling stressed at a low level that you are not usually bothered by it in a non pregnant state
lowering those levels of stress can help
also try carrying a supply of ginger biscuits so that you can chomp on one should the felines of nausea catch up with you again
they do reckon that it passes off after 3 months - some women find that to be the case but not all do
congrats on your happy event BTW!

Not really, maybe try sucking on a hard piece of candy or chew some gum if gagging is all you do. I have to say your lucky though, I threw up for nine months!

I do not think that they is a cure for morning sickness because when your pregnant the baby is going through a process. If you are feeling sick that is a good sign that your baby is growing healthy.

There are many things that you can try:
ginger ale
ginger candy (altoids makes some)
sour gummy candy (gummy worms or sour patch kids)
eating small meals throughout the day so that you always stay full
wearing the sea-bands motion sickness bands or magnetic bracelets

That's how I was.....it will pass. try to avoid smaells that turn your tummy. I couldn't go near Tuna or garlic. I am now at 22 weeks and it has passed although I am still sensitive to strong smells.
When you get stragne looks jsut say you are sorry but you are pregnant. Everyone will understand.

ohhh, i remember those days. Keep crackers by your bed and when u get up munch on some. Also, keep them on you at all times. I had them in my purse, at work, in my car and by my bed. Try some ginger ale. Ginger helps with sickness! Good Luck!! Hopefully it will end soon!

i hardly ever threw up, but felt sick like i would throw up all day. sadly, the only thing that stopped the feeling was french fries. not healthy, i know, but it worked. i think it was the starch or something from the potatoes, but it really worked on me. you could try something healthier like baked potato. get creative, morning sickness sucks!
