It depends on what time of day you are going and whether you have a Young Persons Railcard (Students dont automatically get a reduction on rail travel in the UK, they need to purchase a Railcard first)

Travelling at peak times, the fare is:

£19.40 (single), £30.00 (return) (if travelling with a YP Railcard then these fares are £12.80 & £19.80 respectively.

Off-peak (generally after 0930am Monday to Friday) the fare is:

£17.40 (single), £17.50 (return) however if you travel by Silverlink Trains only you can get a cheap day return for £12.50. (if travelling with a YP Railcard these fares are £11.50, £11.50 & £8.25 respectively)

Why the hell would anyone want to go to Milton Keynes? The most souless, god-forsaken town anywhere. Just avoid at all costs, and stay in London.
