Maybe if it is 50 feet across. Or if you are using a regular umbrella, only to let a gerbil float down to the ground. Might try hooking about 100 together, maybe end on end, that would be a neat way to try and see if it worked. Would look cool as you plummet to your death with the tower of umbrellas.

well, you can try but it wont work very well. the umbrella will invert the same way it does if you hang on to it in a high wind, making it more streamlined. So if it does slow you down it wont be enough to help.
