I need some advice please. On August 13th I had light spotting then it stopped. On Aug. 18th I started my period. My cycles are around 35 days and it's been 42 days I believe. I took a test on Tuesday and another one today (Friday) and they both said no. I have never been pregnant so I don't know what to feel for or look for, but I don't see any sign of my period and this is the longest I have ever gone. Could the tests be wrong??? Please someone help!!

It's possible it is just too early to detect by the test. I took two tests in two weeks, and then about 10 days after that I took another one, and that was finally positive. I am 7 weeks now, so even when I took the first two, I was pregnant, just not far enough along to tell. One thing is to try a better test that can test sooner. Good Luck

The tests could be wrong, but you could have just missed your period this month. Periods can sometimes go AWOL, especially if you've had a lot of stress or have done extreme exercises. There are even more factors than that, but those are 2 biggies. Wait until next month to see if you've missed your period again, then go to the doctor. If you really can't stand the thought of waiting another month, go ahead and go now. No sense in stressing over a missed period and then prolonging the period more as a result. :)

Pregnancy tests can give false negatives. But, almost never a false positive. Were the two tests that you took the same brand? Try a different brand if you get another negative, I would say its safe to say you aren't. You could just be late due to stress, or many other reasons. Just relax and you should start soon. But, if you are trying to have a baby you need to see your doctor first and discuss your health with them. And if you don't start soon then you need to see the doctor incase something else is going on. Hope this helps.

Seeing as how it is so long after your period has been due & you've already gotten negative tests, chances are that the tests are correct (false negatives only occur when you either have a bad test or you've tested too early, which doesn't seem to be the case since you tested twice already). Most likely, you are just having an anovulatory cycle. You should check with your doctor so that he can do tests to confirm that you are ovulating.

Test are wrong all the time I would give it another week or two and try again if your period hasn't came by then and also go to the docs to get a blood test because those are more accurate than a HPT.

It could be, my sister took the test two times and they both said no, she insisted on going to the doctors anyway and she found out she was pregnant so the only way you can positivly know is going to the doctors.

Yes the tests could be wrong, symptoms are sore breasts, over tiredness. If you have none of these that could be normal too. Check with your doctor, get a blood test done they are the most accurate. With my first pregnancy it showed negative and I was expecting.

Why not go to the doctor for a blood test?

If you've taken 2 then I doubt they're wrong....they're 99.9% accurate...
