The Aplocheilus Lineatus (golden wonder panchax) are found in the wild in streams and reservoirs at high altitudes, and in rivers, wells of the plains, low-lying paddy fields, swamps and in brackish waters.
As they are not commonly kept in salted tanks, you are best acclimating it slowly to your tank buy putting them in a bowl (covered) and adding a cup of your tank's water every day.

Water quality is not really important to raise this fish properly. A somewhat soft and slightly acidic water will do perfectly. Slow moving waters are usually better as it recreates their natural habitat. The tank should be covered as Aplocheilus Lineatus is a great jumper.
