I have a laminate acoustic guitar, it may be cheap but I love it and I want to make sure that it is taken care of. I know that laminate guitars are pretty tough, but the winters here can get around -15 celsius so I would rather play it safe and find out if I need humidifier or not.

P.S. If you think I do need one please tell me how to set it up in a gig bag.

it depends on the relative humidity in your house where you keep the guitar. its typically better to have the guitar humidified even if it doesnt need it than to have a guitar without any kind of humidity at all. a humidifier from planet waves or dampit is less than $15, so i'd say go for it.

either one will have something that holds water, and it will sit so that its hanging into the sound hole of the guitar. its really easy to do, i like the ones from "planet waves" myself. it has a little syringe thing that you use to put the water into it, and then it sorta clips in between the strings. thats it! you just throw it back in the case/gig bag.

try to keep your guitar in a place that a human being would be comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans. remember, beyond that, its humidity, not temperature that you're looking for.
